Karate isn't about simply learning how to punch and kick. Children learn to listen, follow instructions, work towards goals and keep going when something is difficult.
Progress in karate takes time, so don't Let Your Child Quit Too Soon if they dont like it?
There will inevitably be days when a child says they don't want to train. That's normal. Learning to overcome those moments and continue working towards a goal is one of the valuable lessons karate can teach.
At Kaizen No-Michi, we encourage children to develop a positive attitude towards challenges and understand that improvement comes through practice.

What Is Shotokan Karate?
Shotokan Karate is one of the world's most widely practised styles of traditional karate.
At Kaizen No-Michi, training incorporates the three fundamental areas of karate:
Kihon
Kihon means fundamentals.
Students practise punches, strikes, blocks, kicks, stances and movement, developing the technical foundations required for karate.
Kata
Kata are traditional sequences of karate techniques.
They develop concentration, balance, coordination, timing, technique and an understanding of karate principles.
Kumite
Kumite means partner training.
Students learn to apply karate techniques with a partner while developing timing, distance, control, movement and awareness.
The Benefits of Karate
Karate training can benefit both the body and mind.
Regular training can help improve:
Physical fitness – develop strength, stamina, flexibility and coordination.
Confidence – learn new skills and experience the satisfaction of achieving goals.
Discipline – develop the ability to practise consistently and work towards long-term objectives.
Concentration – karate requires students to listen, focus and remember techniques and sequences.
