Today, Kacper Wroblewski made the journey to Nottingham to train under the esteemed Sensei Makita from JKS Honbu, Japan. Kacper is a familiar face at many courses, consistently demonstrating an unwavering dedication to his martial arts journey.
His passion, hard work, and humility make him an outstanding ambassador for our dojo, inspiring both his peers and younger students alike.
Sensei Makita’s masterclass was nothing short of exceptional. He delved deeply into the principles of using the entire body to execute techniques, emphasizing the crucial role of the shoulders and hips. Through careful instruction, he taught how to generate power and fluidity by engaging the whole body, while also stressing the importance of silent, controlled landings — a subtle but significant detail in mastering one’s movement.
In addition to refining fundamentals, Sensei Makita guided the group through the intricate details of two Asai Koten katas: Kakyoku Shodan and Kashu as well as Bassai Dai. His approach to these forms was both methodical and profound, breaking down each movement to ensure a deep understanding of the flow, timing, and spirit behind the techniques.
Kacper’s attendance at such a prestigious course once again highlights his commitment to continual growth and excellence. Days like today not only improve technical skills but also strengthen the spirit and character that define true martial artists.
Kacper's journey reminds us all of the importance of perseverance, humility, and the lifelong pursuit of mastery. Constant and Never-Ending Improvement (Kaizen).
