Fantastic Karate Training Sessions with Sensei Steve Ashby at Kaizen No-Michi

Kaizen No-Michi School of Shotokan Karate in Grimsby and Cleethorpes was delighted to welcome Sensei Steve Ashby from Kyoto Shotokan Karate Club in Bristol for two fantastic karate training sessions.
It was a great day of Shotokan Karate training, with both our Tigers and Senior Class having the opportunity to train under an experienced visiting instructor and experience something a little different from their usual sessions.
Karate Training for Our Tigers
Our Tigers Karate Class for children aged 5–10 enjoyed an energetic session packed with fun, challenging and engaging karate drills.
Sensei Steve introduced the Tigers to a variety of exercises designed to develop their karate skills, coordination, movement, and focus, while keeping the session enjoyable and motivating.
It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm from our younger students as they worked hard, listened carefully and gave every drill their best effort.
At Kaizen No-Michi, we believe children's karate should be about much more than simply learning kicks and punches. Our Tigers programme helps children develop confidence, discipline, concentration, coordination and respect alongside their karate skills.

A Technical Shotokan Karate Session for Our Senior Class
The Senior Class were treated to a more technical session, giving our students the opportunity to explore different aspects of traditional Shotokan Karate.
The session provided plenty of challenges and encouraged students to think about their technique, movement, timing and application.
Training with different instructors is a valuable part of a martial artist's development. Every instructor brings their own experience, perspective and approach to karate, giving students new ideas to take into their own training.
Our Senior Class certainly embraced the challenge and trained with the focus and determination we have come to expect from our students.

A huge OSU! to everyone who attended and gave their maximum effort throughout the day. 👊
Whether you were one of our younger Tigers experiencing a visiting instructor for the first time or a senior student working through the more technical aspects of Shotokan Karate, everyone played their part in making it such a successful training day.
Days like this demonstrate what makes being part of a karate club such a rewarding experience. We are continually learning, improving and challenging ourselves — Kaizen No-Michi means The Path to Constant and Never-Ending Improvement.
